Phase 2 Steam Boiler Plant
Hudsonville Ice Cream
Van Dyken Mechanical served as the mechanical contractor for Hudsonville Ice Cream’s Phase 2 Steam Boiler Plant expansion, providing the installation of two 250 HP Cleaver-Brooks steam boilers with economizers, a new 610-gallon deaerator tank, steam piping, and supporting mechanical systems. Additional scope included Greenheck exhaust and supply fans, a condensate cooler, and associated equipment designed to support both existing operations and future production growth.
A key challenge of the project was maintaining operation of the facility’s existing boiler plant while installing and integrating the new systems, minimizing disruption to ongoing production. Through careful planning and coordination, the project was successfully completed within an aggressive five-month schedule, delivering expanded steam generation capacity to support the facility’s continued growth.
