This project involved the construction of a new milk receiving facility for fairlife, including the installation of critical utility systems and process piping infrastructure. Van Dyken Mechanical provided steam, condensate, compressed air, and natural gas systems, as well as the installation and piping of three 100,000-gallon stainless steel milk storage tanks, four tanker unloading pump skids, product piping systems, and two Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems. The project included over 12,000 linear feet of stainless steel and carbon steel welded piping.
One of the project’s most significant challenges was connecting the new milk receiving building to the existing production facility located several hundred feet away. This required the construction of an exterior pipe bridge, with much of the work taking place during the winter months under challenging weather conditions. The length of the pipe bridge also created complex pitch and drainage requirements that demanded careful planning and execution. All welding was performed by certified welders and subjected to both state and third-party inspections to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance.
